ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Postgraduate Diploma
The following shall qualify for admission into the Postgraduate Diploma   Programmes:-

(i) Graduates of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU) or other recognized Universities.
(ii) Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of lower credit pass or its equivalent in relevant areas.
(iii) Candidates who hold qualifications other than the above, which are acceptable to the Senate of the University.
(iv) Candidates must satisfy the University’s requirements for matriculation i.e. five credit passes at the O’level to include English Language and Mathematics.
Master’s Degree
The following shall qualify for the Master’s Degree Programmes: -
(i) Graduates of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University or other recognized Universities who have obtained the approved degree of Bachelor with at least Second-Class Honours (CGPA 3.00) or its equivalent, or candidates with University degree and appropriate Postgraduate Diploma of UMYU or any recognized University with at least a credit level pass.
(ii) Candidates whose degrees are unclassified should score an average of “C” or 50% or above.
(iii) Candidates with only Bachelors degree in third class division who have at least five years relevant working experience. This shall be applicable to MRD only.
(iv) Candidate who possess HND with at least a credit pass from recognized institutions and at least credit pass at Postgraduate Diploma of UMYU or any other recognized institution in the relevant areas. This shall be applicable to MRD only.
(v) Candidates who hold qualifications other than the ones listed above, which are acceptable to the Senate of the University.
(vi)  In addition to (i) - (v) above, a candidate must satisfy the University’s requirements for matriculation i.e. five credit passes at the O’level to include English Language and Mathematics.
(vii)Also candidates seeking admission into the M.A, M.Ed. and M.Sc. programmes shall sit an entrance examination to be conducted by the University.
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D)
The following shall qualify for the Doctor of Philosophy Programmes: -
(i) Graduates of UMYU and other recognized universities who have obtained a good Masters Degree with a CGPA of 3.50 on a 5 point scale or a CGPA of 3.00 on a 4 point scale appropriate to the proposed areas of study.(ii) Candidates with the Degree of Professional Masters with at least a Bachelor’s Degree may qualify for admission provided that they satisfy the condition in (i) above.
(iii) Graduates of UMYU or other recognized Universities who have obtained Masters of Philosophy degree appropriate to the proposed areas of study.
(iv) In addition to (i), (ii) and (iii) above candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Second Class Lower division (CGPA 3.00).
(v) Candidates who hold qualifications other than the above, which are acceptable to the Senate of the University.
(vi) In addition to (i) – (v) above, a candidate must satisfy the University’s requirements for matriculation i.e. five credit passes at the O'level to include English Language and Mathematics.
(vii) In addition to (i) – (vi) above, a candidate must submit a copy of his/her MA/MSc thesis as part of the requirement for admission.
(viii) A candidate must state the proposed area of Research and submit a synopsis of not less than 500 words for the proposed topic of research.

Interested candidates for all the Postgraduate Programmes can download the application and related Forms (PG01, PG02 and PG03) from www.umyu.edu.ng FREE OF CHARGE.
Submission of Application Forms
(i) Completed application Forms should be returned to the Secretary, Postgraduate School, Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, P.M.B 2218, Katsina not later than 11th December, 2015.
(ii) Each completed application form should be accompanied with a bank draft of N10,000:00 or 100 USD for foreign applicants in the name of the University or teller from Ja’iz Bank( Account number 0000595829).
(iii) All candidates are advised to check the University’s website for acknowledgement after the closing date.
(iv) All candidates are required to request their previous institutions to forward copies of their academic transcripts accompanied by Form B, to the Secretary Postgraduate School, Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina.

PZ Cussons in conjunction with Carex invites application from Nigerian secondary school students for the 2015 Chemistry Challenge.
The primary objective of the competition is to stimulate and inspire the learning of Chemistry amongst students and raise their IQ. It is also to demonstrate the relevance and role of chemistry in our society.

The PZ Cussons Chemistry Challenge Competition:

The competition shall be in three stages; First Stage, Second Stage and the Main Challenge.
Stage 1 (All Participants): The First stage shall be a written quiz and all screened candidates shall participate at this stage. Prizes: General gifts
Stage 2: The Second stage shall also be a written quiz and only the who score 70% and above in the first stage will qualify for the second stage. Prizes: Certificate of Merit and general gifts
Final Stage (4 Participants): The Final stage is the Main Challenge, Battle of the Fantastic 4. Only the best four from the Second stage shall qualify for the Finals. Only those who understand Chemistry as a discipline and how it relates to the real world will stand a chance to be crowned the 2015 Champion.
The Champion will be crowned along with his/her teacher and school in a special award ceremony with principal officers from PZ Cussons Foundation and other relevant stakeholders.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
  • Competition is open to all chemistry students in SS 3 only.
  • Only 2 students per school.
  • Students have to be schooling in Lagos only.
  • Students are to be sponsored by their Secondary Schools.
  • Entries are Open to both Private and Public secondary schools.
  • Candidates are advised to provide their true and reachable phone numbers and email address as exam centres would be communicated to them via these medium.
  • Entry is FREE.

• Ensure you read all the registration guidelines and instructions before proceeding to register.
• Payment of N10,000.00 for the UNIOSUN IJMB online application form is through the UNIOSUN Interswitch WebPAY platform.
• Complete the online application form, print and bring the printout along with photocopies of your credentials for all examinations taken, on the day of screening exercise.
Prospective candidates will apply online via www.uniosun.edu.ng and the form will be processed accordingly. Candidates will further go through a screening exercise. Successful candidates will have their names published on-line and through SMS messages.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ADMISSION TO 200 LEVEL
For candidates to be admitted to 200 level, they must
• Possess five credits in relevant subjects at O’ Level;
• Apply through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) by obtaining the DIRECT ENTRY FORMS from the JOINT ADMISSIONS AND MATRICULATION BOARD (JAMB)
• Pass the Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) Examination.
NOTE: The Programmes will be run at Osogbo (Main Campus), Ikire and Okuku campuses.
SCREENING EXERCISE

These studies encompass a number of subjects offered within the University’s School of Geography and the Environment and Department of International Development. The scheme targets exceptional individuals from the transition and emerging economies of Europe’s wider neighbourhood including Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans, the Caucasus, Russia and Central Asia, as well as North Africa and the Middle East.

    Eligibility Criteria:

    Applicants should be intending to return to your country of ordinary residence once your course is completed. Students currently at Oxford are not eligible to apply unless they are already Weidenfeld scholars.
    Applicants should be able to demonstrate a connection between your subject of study and your longer-term career objectives, explaining how you see your professional work contributing to the improvement of public life in your country of origin or at a wider regional or international level.

    DURATION OF PROGRAMME
    Each student admitted for Master's or PhD Degree Programme must pursue a FULL - TIME course of study and research in the Academy. Depending on the Degree in View, the following conditions are also applicable.

    • A student for the Master's Degree shall pursue the programme for 2 years (4 semesters).
    • Candidates for PhD Degree shall pursue the programme for 3 years (6 semesters).
    At the expiration of the period of study for any given programme, a student who has not completed his/her programme shall be withdrawn from the Academy. However, in exceptional circumstances, application for extension to complete the programme may be entertained. Extension shall not exceed a period of one year (2 Semesters) in case of Master’s degree and 2 years (4 semesters) in case of Ph.D.
    PROFESSIONAL POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
    The requirements for the various programmes are as follows:
    a. Master’s Degree. Candidates applying for the professional Masters programmes must possess a Bachelor degree with a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division). Candidates with Third Class degree or Higher National Diploma must also possess a Postgraduate Diploma in a related discipline from any recognised university to be eligible for admission. HND candidates must possess a minimum of Lower Credit to apply.
    b. PGD Programmes. Candidates applying for the Postgraduate Diploma programme must possess a Bachelor degree from the Nigerian Defence Academy or any other recognised university, or a Higher National Diploma.
    FULL –TIME POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
    The requirements for the various programmes are as follows:
    a. Master’s (MA. MEng and MSc) Degrees. A candidate seeking admission into the Master’s Degree programme shall be a graduate of the Nigerian Defence Academy or any other recognized university. Such candidate must possess a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) in the relevant field of study.
    b. Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree. A candidate for PhD Degree must possess a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) at Bachelor Degree and a Master’s Degree in the proposed field of study from a recognized university. In addition, the candidate must

    • A student of Postgraduate Diploma shall pursue the programme for 1 year (2 semesters).

    LASU Re-opens Students Registration Portal


    The Management of Lagos State University (LASU) at its meeting of Wednesday, 7th October, 2015, magnanimously approved the re-opening of the students’ registration portal for the Rain Semester of the 2014/2015 Academic Session.
    The students’ registration portal will be re-opened from Monday, 12th October-Wednesday, 14th October,
    2015.
    The University Management re-opened the portal on compassionate ground after taking into consideration requests and appeals by the students.
    Management thereby directs students who have not completed their online course registration to avail themselves of this opportunity, as there will be no further extension after the expiration of the approved duration.
    It will be recalled that the students resumed for the Rain Semester of the 2014/2015 Academic Session on Monday, 31st August 2015, while registration portal had earlier been opened on Monday, 7th September, 2015 and closed on Monday, 21st September, 2015.

    UI 2015/2016 Direct Entry Admission Procedure Announced

    The management of University of Ibadan (UI) hereby requests all candidates who made the University their First Choice in the Direct Entry (DE) Admissions for 2015/2016 to submit their biodata, ‘O’ level and any of ‘A’ level, NCE, ND, HND, Degree or equivalent certificates ONLINE through http://www.admissions.ui.edu.ng on or before Friday, 16 October, 2015.
    Application Instructions:
    A (i) Candidates are to pay N4, 000.00 (this excludes bank charges) into U.I. Admission Processing Fee Account at the University of Ibadan Micro-Finance Bank (Acct. No – 1050000027). Candidates are advised to keep their bank teller.
    The teller should have full names of the candidate (SURNAME first) as indicated in the DE registration print-out preceded by the JAMB Registration number, as the payee.
    Name and JAMB Registration Number should be quoted in the depositor’s name at the point of payment (in the Bank). The following format could be adopted:
    JAMB registration number/names e.g. 93145667FE/SHUAIB, AKANO, OLUKOYA
    (ii) Consequent upon payment of the Processing Fee of N4,000.00 at the bank, candidates are expected to submit their Teller Numbers. This should be done by logging-in on: http://www.admissions.ui.edu.ng with the JAMB Registration Number.
    (iii) Candidates are then expected to log-in onto http://www.admissions.ui.edu.ng to submit their biodata, ‘O’ level results, and any of ‘A’ level, NCE, ND, HND, Degree or equivalent certificates.
    (v) Candidates should ensure that the on-line forms are carefully filled, following ALL necessary instructions, as “mistake(s)” may lead todisqualification.
    B (i) Please fill the on-line forms in CAPITAL letters only.
    (ii) Candidates can return to the portal, up till Friday, 16 October, 2015 to edit/complete their previous entries or otherwise review and print their biodata. Applicants should note that no further editing CAN be done after the closing date.
    (iii) Kindly use functional e-mail addresses and telephone numbers to enable the University reach you in the course of the Admissions exercise and whenever the need arises.
    (iv) Candidates are expected to upload their passport photographs and signatures. The image format for the passport and signature is JPEG and must not exceed the specification. The photograph must show both ears, without glasses, cap or headgear.
    (v) An online help desk platform on http://www.admissions.ui.edu.ng/helpdesk will be available to handle all genuine enquiries.
    (vi) Schedule: Names of candidates recommended for Admission will be displayed on the University’s Website at a date to be announced later.
    Candidates should please note that it is only when an ‘O’ level result is deficient for a course of choice that another result may be presented to complement. Candidates presenting two ‘O’ level results (6 credits at 2 Sittings except Medicine and Surgery and Pharmacy) should ensure that the comprehensive details of both results are submitted.
    The deadline for submission of biodata / ‘O’ level results may not be extended. Any candidate whose data are not submitted within the stipulated time may not be considered for admission.
    Misrepresentation/falsification of documents is a serious offence. Candidates are therefore advised to submit genuine documents only. Anyone found guilty of this offence will be disqualified automatically and in appropriate cases, be handed over to the Law Enforcement Agencies.
    Candidates are strongly advised to adhere strictly to the guidelines stipulated above for successful completion of the online submissions.
    Finally, candidates are requested to note that payment of the sum of N4,000.00 is for processing of each applicant’s application and does not guarantee admission.
