1st Batch Admision List of 2015/2016 UNIUYO Released

We wish to inform all the candidates that participated in the University of Uyo(UNIUYO) Post UTME Screening Exercise that the institution has released the first batch of candidates offered provisional admission into the institution for the 2015/2016 Academic Session.
How to access the Admission List
1. Go to UNIUYO admission status checking portal. To get to the portal copy and paste this link http://postutmeportal.uniuyo.edu.ng/admissionchecker.php
2. Enter your JAMB registration number
3. Click on Check Admission Status to access your admission status.
Note:
  Those that made are required to print their Notification of Admission Status slip and bring it for Screening and Registration exercise on resumption.

UNIUYO JAMB Performance Statistics For 2014 UTME

The information reaching our desk indicates that the University of Uyo Post-Utme screening details for 2014/2015, we have painstakingly researched and gathered the number of candidates that are eligible to participate in the screening examination. Remember the 2014 UNIUYO post utme cut-off mark was set at a Jamb score of 180.

UNIUYO Post Utme Exam Date, Cut Off Mark, Registration Details 2014

2014 screening form for University of Uyo UNIUYO Post Utme is out. The University of Uyo hereby invites candidates who made the University their 1st Choice in the 2014 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), and had a total score of 180 and above to a Screening Exercise.

HOW TO APPLY

Eligible candidates should pay the sum of N2,000.00 (two thousand naira) only and obtain a PIN Transaction Receipt which should contain a PIN code at the following Banks nationwide:
(i) University of Uyo Microfinance Bank (ii) Zenith Bank PLC (iii) Skye Bank PLC (iv) United Bank for Africa (UBA) PLC (v) First Bank PLC (vi) WEMA Bank PLC (vii) Ecobank PLC

Note: The same PIN Code will be used to access the result of the Screening Test from the internet.

Candidates must provide their names and JAMB registration numbers to the Bank during payment. With the PIN Code, candidates should access and complete the University of Uyo 2014 Post-UTME Screening Exercise Form online at http:// www.uniuyo.edu.ng

From the E-portal solutions navigation menu applying the following steps:

1) Click the Post-UTME e-portal link.

2) From the quick links/Account login menu bar.

3) Select Post-UTME Account login link.

4) Login with your UTME registration Number and PIN Code.

5) Fill the Post-UTME form and upload a recent passport size photograph (scanned), with red background. Webcam photograph will not be accepted.

6) Submit the online application form and print out a copy of the examination schedule slip.

NOTE: (i) The same passport photograph used for the online registration will be used during the Screening Exercise and for registration after the offer of admission.

(ii) No complaint of wrong Bio-Data or blank photograph will be entertained submission.

(iii) Candidates who up-load wrong bio-data will automatically be disqualified. Only candidates who comply with the registration procedures outlined above will be allowed to undergo the Screening Exercise.

SCREENING DATE & DETAILS

The Uniuyo Post Utme Screening Exercise will hold from Monday 28th to Thursday 31st July, 2014 at the University of Uyo, Town Campus and Town Campus Annex. Examination venues will be displayed at the gates.

Candidates are required to come for the Screening Exercise with the following items:

(i) Four (4) copies of the University of Uyo 2014 ON- LINE registration form dully completed with the passport-size photograph printed in colour.

(ii) 2014 JAMB (UTME) result print out.

(iii) Four (4) recent passport-size photographs on red background (same photograph as the one used for the on-line registration) with the name, UTME registration number, with signature of the candidate on the reverse side of the photographs. These should be packaged in quarto-size envelope and labeled with name, department and JAMB registration number.

(iv) HB pencil, eraser and sharpener.
(D) No GSM handsets, calculators or any other extraneous materials should be brought into the screening halls.

APPLICATION CLOSING DATE

The closing date for registration is Friday July 25, 2014 at midnight.

UNIUYO Online Programme: 160 Students Enrolled

The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has enrolled the first batch of 160 students for its pilot e-learning degree programme in Economics.

Dr Mojisola Sodeinde, the Coordinator of the federal university’s e-learning programme made the disclosure on Thursday in Uyo in an interview with newsmen.

She said, “this is the first of its kind in any university in Nigeria. University of Uyo leads the path in e-learning. e-learning is now the viable option for Nigeria. “

Universities have very limited carrying capacity as every year, qualified candidates do not have placement in our universities.

So, e-learning is the lifeline for deserving students to get the best education available."

The e-learning programme coordinator said authorities of UNIUYO had met with officials of the National Universities Commission (NUC) on the minimum standard for the programme to take-off.

“The students will attend classes online, now they are doing registration and orientation will begin from Thursday through Saturday. During the orientation, we will expose them to their online instructors, university rules and regulations, verify their credentials, issue them ID cards and also show them the online platform”.

Sodeinde said that online learning guaranteed coverage of all the materials required for the completion of the course. She added that e-learning allowed the students access the current ideas on the subject matter, as well as application of ICT skills.

The coordinator said the programme was accepted by the American Council on Education (ACE), adding that it was transferable in case of any student re-locating to the U.S. The cost of the programme was N200,000 per session, covering tuition fees, downloaded textbooks and audio lectures.

The Online Degree Programme Coordinator, Dr Christopher Ekong, said that the standard of the programme was higher than the conventional classroom learning.

He said, “students are expected to score 50 per cent before proceeding to the next level as against 40 percent in conventional classes.

e-learning instills more discipline in students in terms of learning than the conventional classroom experience between lecturers and students,” Ekong said.

He said the e-learning reading materials could be downloaded into three devices; the tablets, smart phones, desktops or laptops.

UniUyo Freshers Orientation Programme Holds On The 14th-16th May 2014

Scholars NG wishes to notify the general public, especially all freshers in UNIUYO that the Institution has mapped out dates for their Orientation programme. The dates are 14th may – 16th May.

All freshers are by this notice adviced to report themselves for this programme as it is to enable them know what is required of them in the institution.

It is also important to let all existing students of the Institution that the Orientation dates are also Lecture free days in the Institution!!
