Confusion In Niger State College Of Education Over Sighting Of A Suicide Bomber

Confusion and ensued pandemonium broke out at the Niger State College of Education, Minna over the sighting of an alleged suicide bomber in the school premises.

The ugly event which took place around 7:00pm last Sunday was said to have started when an unknown woman was spotted within the vicinity of the female hostel carrying some bags suspected to be filled with explosives and on questioning by the security conscious students, she threatened to kill everybody around.

This caused a massive pandemonium in the school as every student scampered off to safety.

Reacting, the Niger State Police command PRO, ASP Richard Oguche, confirmed the incident and the arrest of the woman but he said that preliminary investigations revealed she was not carrying anything incriminatory at that time.

This is the second time in a week that suicide bomb scare has happened in Nigeria's tertiary institutions as similar incident occurred at the Univeristy of Jos (UNIJOS) last week. We urge all the students and Nigerians at large to always be security conscious as we battle with security challenges as a result of insurgency in the country.
