A statement signed by the Registrar and Secretary to the university council, D. O. Awoyemi cited the persistent disruption of normal activities and peace on campus by the Student Union Executive as the reason for the closure.
The statement said; “Consequently, all students are directed to vacate their Halls of Residence and the University premises immediately and not later than 12 noon on Thursday, 19th June, 2014″.
Parents are urged to ensure that their children/wards comply with the school management’s directive with immediate effect.
The tuition hike in OAU has sparked a lot of protests by the students but the university authorities through the Vice- Chancellor, Professor Bamitale Omole, has reiterated that the school fees increase is for the benefit of the students.
