Poly Student Writes A Letter to President Obama on ASUP, COEASU Strike

Letter to President Obama on ASUP, COEASU Strike by a Poly Student:

Dear Mr. President,

It is with mix feeling that I am writing you this letter; feeling excitement, pain and frustration, I have choosen to reach you through this medium because, sometimes the only way out is the old way.

Mr. President, it might interest you to know that Nigeria is a very great nation with great wealth of both natural and human resources, that’s why we are called the giant of Africa.

Mr. President, the main purpose of writing you this letter is to draw your attention to the pitiable state of our educational system.

Mr. President, it is with pain in my heart that I wish to inform your, that our (Nigeria’s) Federal polytechnics and Colleges of Education have been under lock & key due to prolonged faceoff between the Federal Gov’t and ASUP/COEASU for almost a year now. Even the Federal Gov’t admitted that the Gov’t is in a fix, and it looks as if all options have been exhausted, that is why on behalf of the Nigerian students, I employ you as the president of United State of America to please wade into this issue with immediate alacrity.

Mr. President, I know that it is outside your jurisdiction to even consider such a matter, but its just that most of the great men and women that we trusted are not even saying anything about it, but there are busy politicizing other issues. Mr. President, it may also interest you to know that our honourable minister of Information, is not telling the world about the vulnerability of our educational sector, but he is busy telling the world about the venerability of the present administration.

Mr. President, we appreciate your timely intervention on our current security challenges. I will also like to draw your attention a little beat away from the BringBackOurGirls struggle to another important issue that can negatively affect the future of Nigerian students: OpenBackOurSchools. On behalf of all the Nigerian students in various colleges of Education and Polytechnics, please sir say on ASUP/COEASU strike, if necessary you can even give the Government ultimatum to either fix its educational system or else all their children studying in the US will sent back To Nigeria.

Thanks
Yours faithfully,
Yusuf Israel,
 Fedponam.
