FUNAAB To Train Ex-Militants On Agriculture

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) is to train some ex-militants in agricultural activities as part of the Federal Governments amnesty programme for renounced militants from the Niger- Delta region.

The Director, Academic Planning FUNAAB, Dr Kayode Akinyemi said that the ex-militants will be trained in poultry science, crop improvement, livestock production, environmental management and other areas of agriculture.

This he said will give them the opportunity to be usesfull to themselves and to the country as well as they will become employers of labour through agriculture.

Dr Akinyemi added that they teach their students entrepreneurial skills and encourage them to practice what they are being taught in the classrooms.

This arrangement was made by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture as part of the amnesty programme.
