PHOTO: Pupils School Bus Hijacked By Armed Robbers At Nyanya Abuja

It was on Tuesday at Nyanya, Kurudu, and other communities on the outskirts of Abuja when parents rushed to schools to pick their kids, it has been rumoured that school students had been kidnapped in the Nigeria Capital by armed robbers.

An official of The Vine kiddies academy, at Nyanya area of Abuja where the students were alleged to have been kidnapped, however confirmed that an empty school bus was seized at gun point. "There were no students in the bus when it was seized" Says the official.

The deputy commandant general (operations) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Evans Ewurum, also confirmed the incident. Many government schools in the areas were later shut, from parents who waited at the gates, to avoid a stampede.
