The final screening that made him to emerge as Unizik vice chancellor was conducted this week.
Until his election as the Vice Chancellor, Prof Nwakoby was the Deputy Vice chancellor Administration. He was also the former Dean, faculty of law in the university.
About thirty persons contested for the position, which was earlier advertised by the university authorities.
The new Vice Chancellor elect will take over by the outgoing Vice Chancellor Prof Boniface Chukwukadibia Egboka who will be stepping down on the 3rd of June 2014. Prof. Egboka was the university Vice Chancellor for a period of five years. Prior to his takeover as the Vice Chancellor, he was in that position in acting capacity for a period of one year.
