NYSC Members Commended For Conducting Free & Fair Election In Ekiti

The just concluded governorship election in Ekiti State has been touted as one of the most peaceful and organised election in the country so far with the members of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in the state receiving commendations from all parties involved in the election for their conduct during the polls.

The NYSC DG, Brig.-Gen. Johnson Olawumi and INEC Chairman Prof. Attahiru Jega made the commendation after the release of the election result in Ekiti state.

Prof. Jega who described the election won by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Ayo Fayose, as free and fair, commended the corps members for conducting themselves in a dignified manner.

Olawumi praised the exemplary behaviour and maturity of the corps members by shunning politicians with all forms of inducement in the course of conducting the election, reiterating that corps members are expected to serve with zeal and diligence for the development of the nation.

He also assured corps members of their security anywhere elections were held in Nigeria.
