2015 University Of Copenhagen National Human Rights Systems Scholarship Is Ongoing For PhD Student(ShareTHIS)



The management Of Scholars.com.NG wishes to inform the general public that Applications are ongoing for the 2015 Fully Funded PhD Scholarship on National Human Rights Systems in Developing Countries.

The Faculty of Law at the University of Copenhagen and the Danish Institute for Human Rights are looking for a PhD candidate to examine the mandate, the roles and the practices of state actors in relation to international human rights standards and systems in developing countries, ideally DIHR partner countries and/or DANIDA priority countries. 
The PhD project shall document (selected aspects of) the mandate and the roles played by state actors, and analyse the challenges and opportunities they face, the interaction between different state actors, as well as the relationship to supranational human rights mechanisms.

Scholarship Value

    • The Faculty of Law offers supervision by highly qualified academics and provides an excellent opportunity to research contemporary legal issues in an intellectually stimulating environment.
    • If you are offered a PhD position, you will receive a regular monthly salary in accordance with Danish law and you will be entitled to an annual research budget. The Faculty does not provide accommodation.

Eligibility:

    • Applicants must have obtained a degree that correspond to the Danish Master of Laws or equivalent qualifications.• Applicants must have obtained a minimum overall grade average of 8.2 or above at the Master’s level in accordance with the Danish grading scale
    • Applicants may submit their application before they have completed their Master’s Degree, however, they should have submitted the final evaluation for their course before 1 June 2015.
    • Applicants must document an aptitude for research through the meritorious assessment of their final thesis, publications or academic recommendations in order to show that they are capable of undertaking the demanding task of writing a PhD thesis.
    • Applicants whose native language is not English must document proficiency in English by having passed one of the recognised language tests. For IELTS a minimum score of 6.5 is required. For TOEFL a minimum score of 90 (internet-based) or 231 (computer- based) is required.
    • Applicants who have obtained a university degree in a country in which English is the official language (Australia, USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand and Canada), and applicants holding a Master’s Degree from one of the Nordic universities are not required to submit proof of English proficiency.

Steps To Apply and Deadline

    • Click ‘apply online’ to be taken to the online application form. We advise you to have the following documents ready before you begin your online application:
      • Research project proposal. This should include the following:
      (1) objective(s) of the research,
      (2) major research questions,
      (3) review of relevant literature,
      (4) methodology to be applied in the research, and
      (5) a timetable that plans for all course requirements to have been met within three years. The project description must elaborate on the value of the proposed research project in terms of its relevance to existing and future research in the field (maximum 6 pages excluding bibliography).
      • The document must be in Times New Roman, font size
      12, spacing 1.5 and all margins (right, left, top and bottom) of 2 cm.
    • Curriculum vitae (maximum 2 pages).
    • Certified copies of original diploma(s) and transcripts (both Bachelor’s and Master’s degree) in the original language and an authorized English translation if they are issued in other language than English or Danish.
    • A certified explanation of grading scale in the original language and an authorized English translation if it is available in other language than English or Danish.
    • The name of a member of academic staff whom you wish to have assigned as your supervisor.
    • Letter of motivation that outlines how the project fits within the research priorities at the Faculty (maximum 1 page) and the Danish Institute for Human Rights.

2015 Studentship at University of Edinburgh Business School Is Currently Ongoing

The Management Scholars.com.NG wishes to inform the general public that  Applications are currently ongoing for the 2015 CSE Fully Funded PhD Studentship at University of Edinburgh Business School, UK. 
The Centre for Service Excellence (CSE) at University of Edinburgh Business School invites applications for a fully funded PhD studentship on a topic of ‘Making a reality of the Public Service – Dominant Logic’. The award will be for three years, subject to satisfactory progress. As part of studentship, students will also be expected to contribute to teaching programmes during their second and third years of the scholarship, for a maximum of six hours per week.

Scholarship Value

The award will be available at the following rates:
    • European Union candidates: standard EU tuition fee plus maintenance fee of £14,000 per year.
    • Non-European Union candidates: standard non-EU tuition fee plus maintenance fee of £14,000 per year.
The award will be for three years, subject to satisfactory progress and only one fully funded PhD studentship is available.
Selection Criteria: Selection will be based on: quality of research proposal; previous academic performance; reference letters; and publications (if any).

Eligibility:

Applicants should have:
    • possession of a Master’s degree from an accredited university in the UK or overseas, with evidence of above-average academic achievement (more than 65% overall in your Masters) and the ability to undertake independent research (Master’s dissertation at distinction level). This may be in a management discipline, public policy, public administration or management, or social policy, and;
    • for applicants whose native language is not English, an IELTS score of least 7.0, with no score lower than 6.0 in each section, or the equivalent from our approved list of certificates.
Applicants of all countries are eligible to apply for this fully funded PhD studentship.

Application Procedure and Deadline

    • Specify that you wish to be considered for this studentship;
    • include a covering letter explaining your reasons for applying and why you are the ideal person to receive this scholarship;
    • include an initial research proposal specifying your research question, how it fits into and extends the literature, and your initial thoughts upon an appropriate methodology – this should be a maximum of 1,500 words (plus references); and
    • include a CV.

2014/2015 Media Trust Scholarship Scheme For Female Medical Students

Scholars NG wishes to inform the general public especially all intrested female medical students that, Media Trust Limited (Publishers of Daily Trust, Weekly Trust, Sunday Trust, Aminiya, Kano Chronicle and Kilimanjaro) is inviting applications for suitable qualified candidates for its 2014/2015 Academic Session Scholarship Award in Nigerian Universities.

INTRESTED PEOPLE MUST HAVE THE FOLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

Nigerian Female Medical Student (MBBS)
Must be in 200 level and above and must have passed their examination.
